About the Integrated Program

The Bachelor’s–Master’s Integrated Program (Program Integrasi Sarjana-Magister, PISM) is an accelerated pathway that allows undergraduate students to take Master’s courses while still enrolled in their Bachelor’s Program. The original notice refers to ITB Academic Regulation No. 29/IT1.A/PER/2025 as the basis for this arrangement.

Eligible students can progress through the two degrees more efficiently while maintaining the academic depth and quality expected of ITB’s Master’s Program in Environmental Engineering.

Why PISM?

The pathway offers three advantages for ITB undergraduate students with strong academic records and clear career goals:

  • Study efficiency: Master’s credits taken during undergraduate study are recognised towards the Master’s curriculum, supporting continuity without unnecessary repetition.
  • Research continuity: undergraduate research or the final project must be integrated with the planned Master’s thesis, helping students develop a coherent research agenda.
  • Specialisation: access to four Environmental Engineering Master’s specialisations addressing environmental-sector needs in Indonesia and internationally.

Master’s Specialisations

  • Environmental Technology and Management (TML): a systems-oriented integration of engineering, technology, and management for complex environmental problems, relevant to industry, government, and consultancy.
  • Sustainability in Environmental Engineering (KTL): sustainability, climate change, environmental governance, policy, and systems research, supporting work in climate policy, strategic environmental planning, and national or international research.
  • Pollution Control and Prevention (PPP): technical solutions through system design, laboratory experimentation, and data-driven engineering, relevant to industry, environmental oversight, and pollution-control technology development.
  • Environmental Health and Safety (KKL): environmental health, occupational safety, and science-based risk analysis, relevant to major industries, government agencies, and international organisations.

Master’s Completion Pathways

The notice describes two pathways for integrated-program participants:

  • Research-Based Master’s (MBR): emphasises independent research and an international journal publication. The notice highlights potential double degree scholarship opportunities and recommends this pathway for students planning research careers or doctoral study.
  • Course-Based Master’s with Thesis (MbT): combines structured coursework with research reported in a Master’s thesis, in accordance with the ITB Master’s curriculum.

Eligibility in the Published Call

  • Applications may be submitted from the end of semester 3 and no later than the end of semester 7, for the class of 2023 specified in the notice.
  • Students must take between 9 and 18 Master’s credits (SKS) during undergraduate study.
  • At least 9 Master’s credits must be completed by the end of semester 8.
  • By the end of semester 6, students must have completed at least 110 credits, with no D grades on their transcript.
  • Undergraduate research or the final project must be integrated with the proposed Master’s thesis.
  • The Bachelor’s Program must be completed no later than the July 2027 graduation assessment meeting to enter the Master’s Program in semester I of academic year 2027/2028.

Academic Information

The notice describes a Master’s study load of at least 43 credits over at least three semesters.

Its academic monitoring checkpoints are: the end of year one (minimum GPA 2.00); the end of year two (minimum GPA 3.00 and at least 27 credits passed); and the final study-period checkpoint (at least 36 credits passed and minimum GPA 3.00). These are the checkpoints reproduced in the original notice, rather than a replacement for completing the full curriculum.

Graduation requires completion of all prescribed courses with grades of at least C, a minimum GPA of 3.00, submission of a supervisor-approved thesis, and fulfilment of all other ITB requirements. MBR students must have an international journal publication at least under review before the graduation assessment meeting.

Tuition and Further Information

The notice refers to Rector Regulation No. 8 of 2026 for tuition fees (BPP). It asks prospective students to contact the Master’s academic office or consult official ITB information for accurate and current fees; it does not publish a fee amount.
