ITB’s Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Environmental Engineering, together with the Environmental Management Technology Research Group (TPL), welcomed inbound students from Arizona State University (ASU) through the EQUITY ITB 2025–2026 program (Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impact and Recognition).
Part of ITB’s World Class University initiative supported by LPDP, the non-research EQUITY scheme was designed to strengthen international networks, encourage cross-cultural collaboration, and deepen students’ understanding of global sustainability issues, particularly the Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus.
Academic Activities and Field Learning
The program ran from 11 May to 16 June 2026 at ITB’s Ganesa and Jatinangor campuses. ASU students joined lectures, seminars, and workshops with the Environmental Engineering academic community. Collaborative research activities included secondary data analysis and fieldwork through surveys, interviews, and case studies.
Visits to BBWS Citarum, the environmental agencies of Purwakarta and West Java, and Cirata Reservoir provided practical context for understanding water, energy, and food resource management in Indonesia.
A Sister Class integrated into the Environmental Engineering Selected Topics course brought ITB and ASU students together to learn and collaborate on sustainability and natural resource management.
An International Academic Community
The presence of ASU students reflected TPL’s commitment to an open and internationally collaborative academic environment. The program enabled ITB students to broaden their global perspectives through knowledge exchange and shared research experiences grounded in real environmental management challenges in Indonesia.
